“Mount Spur from Alaska, a volcano about 80 miles from the largest city in the state, will erupt in the coming weeks or months for the first time in more than 30 years, according to scientists.
High levels have been significantly discovered from volcanic gas emissions and newly activated gas holes in the area surrounding Jabal Sport, the Alaska Berkano Observatory announced in a summary on Wednesday.
The observatory said that these increased emissions are the result of the magma that interfered in the crust of the earth under the top of the volcano – which caused a wave of activity discovered by scientists on flights on 7 and 11 March.
The latest evidence “indicates that the explosion is likely, but it is not certain that it will happen within the next few weeks or months,” according to the summary.
Scientists say that the increase in magma was accumulating on the top of the summit for several months.
The molten flow force opened a new path near the opening of the previously known hole, indicating that fresh magma may rise and explode there.
Mount Spur, which is 80 miles northwest of Anchorage, erupted twice in modern history – once in 1953 and recently in 1992.

These explosions lasted for only a few hours, although they produced huge clouds of the wind that carried the wind for hundreds of miles.
The Alaska authorities warn of more seismic activity, gas emissions, and an increase in the surface temperature with the continued progress of the underground system.
More than 34,000 earthquakes have been discovered under Mount Spor since April 2024, according to the observatory.
