A lawyer representing the Hollywood fighter Harvey Winstein is asking a “new eye” to restore the next trial for rape and sexual assault.
Winstein, 72, appeared weak during a court hearing in Manhattan on Wednesday, before his re -simulation of April 15. This is after the state's appeal court canceled his convictions in 2020 in New York, and they spent that the certificate of three women regarding the non -advanced allegations should not have been submitted in the original trial.
Fears about Winstein's health were growing, especially as he underwent a heart surgery in emergency cases last year and is currently serving a 16 -year prison sentence for non -relevant rape in California. Despite his condition, his lawyer stressed the need to reassess the case from new angles. Judge Curtis Farper reassured everyone that “everything is done again.”
Winztein's first condemnation in New York included charges of raping an actress and forcing the production assistant to have oral sex, which led to a 23 -year prison sentence. However, Winstein always insisted that all sexual meetings were mutual. His legal team, including lawyer Arthur Edala, repeated this claim during the session, stressing that there is “no victim” in these cases.
