After two competitions in the end-one of which was an immediate classic-the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship was a river as Florida Gutors defeated Houston Coesers 65-63.

Houston led 31-28 in the half. Florida fell behind double numbers in the second half, late 42-30 with 15:48 to go. But Gutors stormed again.

During a period of time after Florida achieved the result, Houston coach Kelvin Sampson wrote one word on the white plate of his team: “durability”.
