The founder of Reddit Alexis Ohanian bought a stake in Chelsea, the women's champions.
Ohanian, the husband of the American tennis star, Serena Williams, will receive a seat on the board of directors after purchasing a 8-10 % stake, and it is believed that it is worth about 20 million pounds.
In a post to xand externalOhanian said: “I have been betting great on women before, and I am doing it again.
“I am proud to announce that I joined Chelsea as an investor and a member of the board of directors. I am honored to have the opportunity to help this iconic club to become all the favorite Wsl team for every American and much more.”
He also posted pictures of Chelsea tools with the names of his children, Olympia and Adira, on their backs.
The 42-year-old has invested in women's football formerly, as the largest contributor to the American CLUB City FC team until he was sold in 2024 for 192.3 million pounds-the highest price for women's sports team to this deal.
