Kevin!
Although Macaulay Culkin played the unlikable Kevin in the Christmas classic Home Alone, the actor's three-year-old son believes he is the iconic character his father portrayed.
Culkin (44 years old) and his fiancée Brenda Song (36 years old) have two sons, Dakota (3 years old) and a two-year-old child, whose name the couple did not reveal. The “Home Alone” star recently told E! His children were so impressed by the film, which propelled him to fame, that Dakota mixed some of his memories with the events of the film.
“He thinks it's Kevin,” Culkin told the outlet.
“I'm like, 'Do you remember going down the stairs on the sled?' “He's like, 'Mmm, yeah.' Sure I do. I'm like, 'Do you remember when he had yellow hair?' And he's like, 'Oh, yeah.'
Dakota even believes he fought the villains in the movie, Marv and Harry, who tried to break into the McCallister family home.
Dakota told his father that he “fought the thieves,” which prompted Culkin to tutor his young child.
“'You're a lying, lying liar. It was me!'” the actor recalled joking to his son.
While his children were big fans of the film, Culkin had to help them follow the story.
“They couldn't really follow the story, so I told them the story as it was,” he shared.
The “American Horror Story” star added that it's understandable that his children don't realize he's their father in the movie.
“I'm much taller now. I have a lot of body hair,” he joked. “But yeah, that was actually me.”
On the other hand, Culkin's nephew and niece have not seen Home Alone. Macaulay's brother Kieran, 42, who also stars in the film, believes the film could be too “scary” for his daughter Kinsey, 5, and son Wilder, 3.
“There are still some scary parts,” the “Caliphate” actor said recently. “For a 3-year-old, there's a tarantula [and] There's the guy at the end who says, “I'll bite off all your fingers.” “That's scary for a 3-year-old.”
However, Kieran also shared that this could be the Christmas season when he finally premieres the holiday movie for kids.
“We think they might be ready for Home Alone this year,” he revealed. “If not, next year.”
Kiran's brother is 'embracing' the much-loved monsoon film lately even though he was previously having trouble liking the film.
He told E! “I'm kind of embracing it, and at the same time, I'm taking the piss out of it, too.” this week. “It's very rare to have something like this that involves a big day, and I'm a part of that. It's more fun to embrace it than to fight it.”
