Kennedy Berke will not go anywhere.
On the first day of the VIBA signing period, Freedom saw goalkeeper Courtney Vandrezlot for a year with Chicago Sky, while Burke, a restricted free agent, was re -signed with New York.
Burke got his interest from several teams during the past week, including Connecticut, Los Angeles and Sayattle.
Ultimately, though, the goalkeeper/attacker decided to stay in Brooklyn and help freedom to defend the title of 2024.
Al -Douri sources told the “Post” newspaper that Burke is due to the minimum veteran contract for one year, at a value of $ 78,831.
She looked at an expanded role in 2025, after average 12.1 minutes last season.
In a statement, General Manager Jonathan Collip said the team was “very excited” to welcome Burke.
“KB is a vital piece of our list and our culture alike – and building its success in 2024 – ready to take over the biggest role this year and show its multiple uses,” said Kolp.
Next season, Mark Berke will be ranked second with freedom and sixth in the league.
In 2024, the average Burke was 3.4 points and 1.5 rebounds at 40.9 percent of the shooting in 38 games.
The time of her playing diminished, though, in the qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Vandersloot is the second player that freedom lost from the championship list after Golden Stayette Falky Kyla Thornton picked up the draft expansion in December.
Vandersloot's exit is not a shock, given that writing was on the wall for several months, that it is likely to approach its time with New York.
Nevertheless, the Vanderslaot situation in New York was strained when it was transferred to the bench during the qualifiers.
Vandersloot only played only 18 minutes over the last three games of the WNBA finals against Minnesota Linux.
Speaking in an unparalleled state, Vandersloot explained that she wants to play for a team that appreciates her group of skills and allows her to be the team's primary ball processor.
You will be able to do this with Sky, which has not made a qualified offer to 2024 starting goalkeeper Cende Carter.
Vandersloot was in Chicago in the first 12 years of her career after she drafted Sky No. 3 in 2011.
With Vandersloot and Thornton gold, Burke will have the opportunity to compete for more playing time.
