The Laureus World SPORTSMAN of the Year was awarded after granting a three -month doping ban on.
The first world accepted an immediate ban for three months of tennis earlier this month after reaching a settlement with the World Anti -Doping Agency due to his positive real estate tests last year.
The 23 -year -old Italian girl, who won the Australian opening in January, was suspended from February 9 to May 4.
“In the wake of discussions conducted by the Lauris Academy, it was decided that the candidacy of Janic will be drawn for this year's Lawros World Award,” said Sean Fitzpatrick, President of the Lawros International Sports Academy.
“We have followed this issue, and the decisions of the relevant global bodies – while we note the reduced conditions concerned – you feel that the ban for a period of three months makes the nomination not qualified.
“Janek and his team were informed.”
