Jeffrey Starks, one of two Democrats on the Federal Communications Committee, said he will step down this spring.
He will leave his departure vacant in the committee, because the Senate has not yet confirmed Olivia, a fans nominated by President Donald Trump earlier this year.
Starks said in a statement, “The service of the American people as a commissioner at the Federal Communications Committee was an honor for my life.
He did not give the reason for his exit, but Punchebowl News stated in December that he was looking to leave his position.
Starks worked in the committee since 2019. In 2023, President Joe Biden re -repeated it for a new period, ending in 2027.
The committee is currently divided 2-2 between Republicans and Democrats.
