Israel struck dozens of Hezbollah's targets in Lebanon on Saturday after the terrorist group launched half of the missiles in a border town in the Jewish state in a “flagrant violation” to stop the fragile November.
The Israeli Defense Forces said that the terrorist group criticized six missiles in Metula, a northern border town in Galilee, on Saturday morning. Israel intercepted three, and according to the other three palace in Lebanon.
In response, the Israeli forces struck dozens of Hezbollah missile launchers and a command center, and the Israeli Defense Army said in X. In a second wave of air strikes on Saturday night, Hezbollah headquarters targeted the infrastructure, activists and weapons warehouse.
“The missile fire that was launched this morning towards Galilee is a flagrant violation of the understanding between Israel and Lebanon, and it represents a direct threat to the citizens of the State of Israel,” the Israeli Defense Army wrote on X.
He added that the Israeli Defense Army will continue to act as required to protect Israeli citizens.
“We will not allow fire from Lebanon to the Galilee societies,” said Israel Defense Minister Israel Katz. “We have promised security to Galilee societies, and this is exactly what will happen.”
A blatant warning to the Lebanese officials has been given that there is no goal outside the border, saying that “the fate of Metula is the same Beirut,” the Israel newspaper reported.
The attacks from Lebanon forced many residents of Metula, who have just returned to their homes to flee again from the area, according to her mayor, David Azoulay.
Azoulay told the Israel newspaper: “The return of the residents to Metula under the current circumstances is unreasonable.” “Metula residents will not be kept hostage in a security compromise.”
About 60,000 Israelis were displaced during the conflict with Lebanon, which began with Hezbollah firing rockets to Israel in solidarity with Hamas after its attacks on October 7, 2023.
Hezbollah denied responsibility for the attacks on Saturday, saying it “repeated its commitment to the ceasefire agreement and is behind the Lebanese state in addressing this dangerous Zionist escalation against Lebanon.”
Renewed fighting comes in southern Lebanon, where Israel has increased the attacks on Gaza, saying that it will carry out operations “with increasing” until Hamas has liberated the 59 hostages still in captivity, despite the ongoing peace negotiations.
It is believed that twenty -four hostages are alive.
Among her attacks on Friday, which was said to have killed nine people, the Israeli Defense Army blew up a cancer hospital where he said that terrorists in Hamas were working.
Hamas said it would only launch the remaining hostages in exchange for a permanent ceasefire and remove Israeli forces from Gaza.
Meanwhile, President Trump's envoy to the Middle East said in an interview with Taker Karlson on Friday that Hamas could still be politically participating in Gaza once the war ends – if they are recruited.
He said: “We need to understand what Hamas wants and then think about what we can offer them to make them leave.”
