The death of the musician was announced by his nephew, Dennis Tampelin, on Facebook on Friday.
Dennis wrote: “My uncle Larry Tampelin died today. I have very great memories for him and his family over the years,” Dennis wrote.
“He lived an incredible life. It was in a band called The Standells, whose successful song“ Dirty Water ”has been played to this day whenever the Red Sox or Bruins was raised in a home match. They also played in an episode of“ The Munsters ”, and the post continued.
“A few years ago, Standels played at the hotel's conference here in Toxon and Larry stayed with me. It was great to hang with him and catch up. He was still making music in his last years.”
Dennis added: “We will miss you, uncle Larry,” Dennis added.
The cause of Larry's death has not yet been shared.
One of Larry's neighbors shared his honor on X (formerly Twitter). “Sad news I fear. My friend and neighbor, Larry Tampelin, died this morning. The founding member of Standells was completely. It was completely the surreal that the garage band in the sixties of the last century had moved close to me in the rural areas,” I read the reading.
The late star, who was born on February 5, 1943, was the brother of actor Ross Tampelin and Acting Actress Amber Tampelin.
In 1962, Larry formed a rock music band named Larry Tampelin and standing with Tony Valentino, Rich Rich and Benny King. The group later changed its name to Standells.
The band released its first album, “Dirty Water”, in 1966.
After its members continued her individual professions, Larry Standels again in 2009 with Larry, guitarist John Felk, guitarist Paul Downing, drama player Greg Bornham.
In 2014, they went on the first national tour in the 1960s. The group's last album, “BOMP” was released in 2013.
In an old interview with classic teams, Larry said that Standels was inspired by the Beatles to develop her hair for a long time.
“We were one of the first collections that had long hair in 1963. We have seen pictures of Pitles in London before they became big here and we slept.” “When they started to collapse here, we had long hair and we were doing the same shyc in this club called Peppermin West. They had a great sign at the introduction, saying beatlemania. This was us.”
Larry also revealed how he reached the name of his band, saying: “Believe it or not, I got the name from when we formed for the first time, we were just a handful of young people and we had no work.
Larry was recruited in the California Celebrity Hall by Ross, 90, in December 2023.
