Nikki Glaser was one of the few celebrities walking on the red carpet in the Mark Twain Award for this year – certainly not because of the honorees, but perhaps because of the “elephant in the room”.
Glaser said that she expects the evening to focus on honoring Conan Operation, but there may be a few “rebellious” characters who are joking around the situation.
She told reporters that she was thinking twice now before doing political jokes – including those in Trump.
“Like, you are just afraid that you will get Doxxed threats and death or who knows where to lead this, such as, frankly. Frankly, it is not like a joke. I hope this is a defense.
This event was the first major boys since Donald Trump took control of the Kennedy Center. Trump launched the members of the board of directors chosen by Joe Baiden, expelled the president and made sure he would become president. During a visit to the Foundation, Trump explained that he will not only supervise the programming and the material appearance of the place, but was chosen to the Kennedy Center, and even indicates that it may be called the same.
O'Brien was chosen before the president was cleared, and it only raises the issue of those who will be running next year, given the scarcity of well -known comedians who support Trump and the extent of mining the satirists in the past decade at his expense.
O'Brien told reporters that he is not his offer, so he has no control over what his friends and colleagues will say.
