Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened to “end” the Ukrainian forces on Friday-after the warmth of strikes against an Ukrainian energy facility in a bold violation of the US-backed partial shooting from the United States.
This week, Russian forces attacked a Ukrainian energy facility in Jayson, and Ukrainian President Voludmir Zelinski warned, accusing Putin of violating the unstable deal that stopped military action in the Black Sea and stopped long -term attacks on energy infrastructure.
Putin, who said that Moscow would end its strikes on Ukrainian energy targets, called on his forces to continue moving forward in Ukraine and even intensifying their attacks.
“I had not said not long ago:“ We will end them. ”Putin said while attending the International Arctic Forum in Mormansk, according to Agence France -Presse.
“We gradually, not at the speed that some want, but nevertheless, we move constantly and confidently towards achieving all the goals mentioned at the beginning of the special process.”
Putin's comments come as Washington is working to re -establish a relationship with Moscow and engage with both Russia and Ukraine in separate talks to reach a peace deal.
After discussions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia this week, the White House said that the warring countries agreed to “develop measures to implement the agreement to prohibit strikes against energy facilities in Russia and Ukraine.”
Putin was accused by Ukraine and European leaders of trying to prolong the ceasefire talks without any serious intention to end the war.
