Justin Brannan, the financial observer candidate, maintains a fundraising in Saturday's campaign with Tiffany Kaban, a member of the anti -Israel Socialist Council, while his opponent Mark Levin issued a poll claiming to be on the right path to win the initial elections easily.
Kaban, one of the leaders of the New York City branch of the Social Democrats in America, was a repeated critic of the Jewish nation as it spoke to support the Palestinians in Gaza.
Last year, during the celebration of the month of pride, it announced that “the liberation of the stranger means” Palestine is free! “.
Queens actor shared the photos on social media throughout the month with posters that read “Queer as in free Palestine” and “There is no pride in genocide”.
Kaban also visited the controversial protests in the “Gaza Solidarity” camps to combat Israel at the University of Colombia last April-part of the continuous demonstrations in the Evy League, which later took snowball to the school building, sabotage and violence.
Kaban is participating in hosting the event with her colleague at the Association Claire Valdez, another DSA Paul.
The “Meet and Greet” invitation is cited in Sunnyside supported by Brannan from the left -wing family party and indicates it as “the workers”.
The Branan campaign also received a total of $ 500 from the Linda Sarsor campaign, a long -term lawyer for the boycott, and the recognition of the BDS against Israel – which it referred to in the name of the “apartheid” state.
Sarsour is also a campaign for the mayor's candidate and a member of the State Council, Zohran Mamdani, another supporter of BDS against Israel.
Meanwhile, Levin, President of Boro in Manhattan, claims that he is on the right path to promoting council member Branan in the democratic preliminary elections of the Financial Observer, according to a survey survey in the internal campaign obtained by the Post.
Levin Branan leads 33 % to 14 %, as 6 % went to the third candidate, Senator in Brooklyn Kevin Parker, although many of those surveyed are still unlimited or uncommon for candidates, according to the survey conducted by the Global Strategy Group for his campaign.
Levin's progress over Branan expands to 40 % to 18 % when voters in Parker are required to choose between the two, and the survey claims.
The introductory elections will be held on June 24, preceded by early voting from 14-22 June.
The survey analysis said: “The Levin multi -ethnic alliance and the roller makes it the best candidate in the race. Before any paid contacts, Levin picks up the majority of voters in Bronx and Manhattan, although it leads across the town.”
“He is already approaching a 50 % mark between Spanish voters, Jewish voters, and the elderly,” the survey conducted by the Global Strategy Group claims.
However, the Branan campaign rejected Levin's poll as nonsense.
“We have obtained our own polls showing Justin 42-28 as soon as voters are informed of the race,” said Branan's spokesman John Paul Loubo.
“Most of the candidates who trust in great progress in their polls do not spend time offering negative stories about young donors and home party hosts, especially the people who have been praised in the past. We are proud and confident in the Gustin's varied alliance and the path to victory.”
Levin defended Kaban on social media in 2022 when she faced criticism from the right, and praised Sarsor in 2014 that she sees “people's humanity on my side [Israel-Palestinian] conflict.”
Kaban refused to comment, but she was previously defending her support for the pro -Gaza camp in Colombia.
“We believe in freedom, safety and equal rights for all Palestinians and Israelis, and we celebrate students who are fighting for these goals, who are not interested in facing hostile administrators and armed police brigades.”
The current observer Brad Lander runs for the mayor instead of seeking to be re -elected as an observer, which leads to a race for who will be replaced.
Lander defeated former council chairman Cori Johnson in the democratic primaries of the observer in 2021.
