The decision to close the store came after a rental dispute that was more than ten years in making.
The store was common among shoppers and welcomed customers for more than 100 years.
But despite the appeals of desperate shoppers to keep the store open, the owner of Niman Marcus, Saks Global, made the final call to close its doors.
Important Niman Marcus sponsors, the iconic store will remain open during the 2025 holiday season.
The retail seller met the city's officials to discuss the new ideas “to transfer” the store.
Although the plans have not been completed yet, there is a recent talk about his renovation in a luxury retail experience, a coordinated art gallery, or even a fashion and event center.
This comes as part of the plans “Return in the center of Dallas”.
“We are excited because Sachs Globean decided to keep Niman Marcus open in the city center, where we explore the opportunity to cancel the possibility of converting the city center into an international beacon and an economic engine – just as it was scheduled that the founders of Niman Marcus aimed when they opened the store for more than 100 years,” said Kimberly Bizour Tolbert, Director of Dallas City.
Saks Global announced for the first time the closure on February 18 after receiving a notice from the owner of the property, Slaughter Partners, to end the lease.
According to what was reported, the massacre family signed a 99 -year -old lease contract with Niman Marcus in 1926, pledged to donate the land that the store sits in Dallas.
Sachs Global said she inherited the issue of rent from the former owners of Niman Marcus.
He added that she had made several attempts to reach a “reasonable” agreement on the lease contract, but to no avail.
A number of other retail giants have been forced to close stores in recent months.
Messi announced that she would close her pioneering position at City City, Philadelphia, who stood 20 years ago.
There are also plans to close 150 performance stores, which were announced in February 2024.
“We are closing the non -producing MACY stores to allow us to focus our resources in our stores,” said Tony Spring, Chairman and CEO of Messi.
Messi is struggling with low sales, like many other stores.
