Canary Island issues ‘critical tipping point’ warning at popular hotspot

The blame has been blaming spaces of unbridled tourists and bad management in one of the most famous sites on the Canary Island, which environmentalists say they are in a “near” state

One of the most beloved destinations on the Canary island is “escalating” in chaos – and tourists bear the blame. Last year, about three million visitors flocked to the Ted National Park – a world heritage site for UNESCO home to Ted Pico Vigo Stratofolkanu.

Whether you want to stroll through Mars-like landscape, scrambling the 3718 meters peak (the highest in all Spain) to enjoy some scenic views, or want to take the cable at night for some stars outside this world-there is really something for everyone. It is not surprising that the region is one of the most visited national parks in Europe.

But its uncomfortable popularity is anxious among the advocates of environmental protection who are calling for change. This comes at a time when tourists were accused of loud behavior, including illegal parking compounds, and they descend from noticeable tracks, climbing “fragile” rock formations, and even eating volcanic stones from the national park as a souvenir.

According to Jimmy Coelho, director of the Telesforo Bravo -Juan Coello, the behavior was “shame” and warned that the situation had reached a “critical turning point”. According to Canarian Weekly, he said: “If this is the jewel of the crown in our protected areas, imagine the rest of the rest. Most of them are bad, or what is worse.

“The problem is not only the number of visitors, but the lack of a real will to protect this place. No one is ready to impose rules or repair this disaster.”

Jaime Tennervi criticized the “preference” of mass tourism over the environment – arguing that the park is “in a state of anxiety.” The world of the environment added that the pictures of unbridled tourists are evidence of an “perfect storm” for both excessive tourism and “mismanagement”.

This warning comes amid the escalation of anti -auto feelings throughout Spain, as the local residents continue to revive the British who are rays to destroy their homeland and their pricing outside the real estate market.
