The pre -school teacher in South Africa is being tried for raping and killing her four -year -old daughter.
Amber Lee Hughes, 25 years old, raped and killed Nada-Jane Challita on January 23, 2023.

It is being tried for the alleged crime in the Johannesburg Supreme Court.
The defendant acknowledged that he was not guilty.
The alleged killing was reported in Molptron, a suburb of Johannesburg.
The trial started on Monday, April 14th.
A spokesman for the National Prosecution Authority said: “The court heard that a pre -school teacher claims to have developed a romantic relationship with the father of the deceased.
“I moved with them and during her stay, their relationship was characterized by repeated disputes.”
MJONONDWANE said the defendant would threaten the child's harm during an argument.
It is claimed that the rape and killing of a Jin club had occurred while the father, Elie Chalita, left it alone in Hughes.
It is claimed that she was raped, killed and drowned by four -year -old.
The spokesperson added: “He also claims that she sank and cut her wrists.”
According to what was reported, the child's body was found in the bathtub.
Father Eli Nalita was a witness in the trial.
He told the court that Hughes was jealous of his daughter.
“[She] He was jealous of me [Nada-Jane] More attention and spend more money on it.
Chalita had a work interview on the alleged killing day.
But it is said that Hughes was suspected of cheating, and he sent him a textual message.
She says, “I broke my heart; I will burn you. How can you do it to me?”
The Father said: “I felt that my heart was falling from my chest. I felt that something was very wrong.”
The prosecution called Dr. Hestel Van Staden, an expert in criminal pathology, as a witness on Tuesday.

Dr. Van Staden said that the cause of death was suffocation and sexual assault.
She also detailed the injuries of the child.
