Ford is looking to restore the old car feature that drivers insist on making the roofs more enjoyable.
But the auto giant is not alone in the project, as many brands look forward to returning the feature that was once to new cars.

Ford's patent revealed that she is developing a simulator for use for use in its electric cars.
The patent entitled “SHIFTER Group for Electric Cars” included plans showing the six-speed H-Pattern path.
The brand noted that EV drivers are deprived of the COMMON experience that was once converting gears in manual transmission cars.
“It lacks the operator to the material comments of the vehicle that are useful in traditional cars,” wrote electric cars.
Ford solution is to have a fake chef in EVS that mimics a manual transmission using Haptics.
The patent was presented in the United States in 2023, but it was just published in March 2025.
Ford is the latest that jumps to the increasing direction of adding fake sticks to electric cars to enhance the driving experience.
The EV Hand Experiment, Toyota, BMW, and Hyundai are tampering with the changes in their cars.
Toyota started working on its own evo version until 2022.
Hyundai repetition is a double clutch transmission in the Ioniq 5N.
While some drivers enjoy the gears ideas manually again, some people have given this step unnecessary and even compared it to a child's car.
Auto News went on Jalopnik to the extent that he described it as the worst direction in modern EVS.
In response to the Galubnik story, someone wrote: “If they can make the car put in the forefront and background when” transformation “, and allow me to choose any sound from a file from everything starting from classic cars to the millennium, it may be fun.”
“It is not fun if they receive a lot for that.”
Another books, “If this makes EV driving more fun, then there will be enough Schmucks like me that you want and pay (reasonable price) for that.”
A third person compared the concept to the Hyundai project.
“E,” Teroste transformations “is what makes them enjoyable.
“I will keep the judgment to see it. Also, I thought Toyota was doing something identical with a physical shutter?”
The editors of the drive seemed enjoying the idea, as we wrote, “We are dinosaurs, we will be able to reformulate young people on how to do this in the old way.”
They pointed to how the manual transformation came with unavailable reminders if they made a mistake.
Other car fans insisted that the fake edge will only be suitable for EVS.
It should be noted that just to submit a patent does not mean that it will definitely end in EV.
Electric cars against gas

The pros and cons of EVS versus gasoline vehicles
EV Pros:
- Comfortable (when charging at home)
- Cheapest (depending on the state or city)
- Cheaper maintenance, due to the lack of mechanical parts
- Great to move
- Endomings of carbon dioxide emissions
- Federal and state tax incentives
- More performance (speed, handling – depending on making and model)
EV negatives:
- The highest initial cost
- High insurance rates
- More frequent periods of tires and switching brakes
- Supreme curbing weight (and therefore caused faster wearing on the decisive parts)
- Reduced residence value
- High decline rates
- Lack of infrastructure
- Unreliable general shipping (relevant: slow charging times)
- Winter and bad summer performance
- The lack of clean energy alternatives means more “dirty energy” from nuclear and coal sources
- Anxiety range
Gas positives:
- Very increasing infrastructure
- Rapid fuel
- Cheaper insurance prices, depending on making, model, and training
- The established reform industry
- Low primary cost
- A higher domain before refueling, especially with hybrid
- Many manufacturers produce almost minimal emissions engines
- The cheapest fuel, depending on the site
Gas negatives:
- A limited resource (relevant: intense dependence on oil)
- Carbon emissions/greenhouse gases
- High repair costs
- High insurance rates, depending on making, form, and composition
- Various costs in the pump, depending on the state, the city and the province
