Nioport says that the decision was taken at a meeting with the president of Jenkins Club after Goalleess tied Monday at home to Walsal.
With two games in Neborat remained in the twentieth place in the second league, with 49 points, eight over the landing zone.
“I cannot thank Nelson enough for his hard work, commitment and loyalty, especially since he left his young family in Portugal to take on this role,” added Jenkins, who completed a acquisition of the club in January 2024.
“He has faced a difficult challenge with many changes in the club from a comprehensive reform to the way we work and work.
“His main goal was to keep the club in the second league during a season of moving so that we can start building in the future. It took us longer than we wanted, but he feels that with the completion of the job, it's time to find a new challenge.
“After taking his ideas and timing, it also gives us space to reflect and plan during the last two games and summer to set an alternative as soon as possible.”
Jardim took over the club after the departure of Graham Kouglan in June 2024, with Jenkins's promise to “a new direction” for the club.
Then the exiles signed 17 new players during the transfer window last summer, while Jenkins is now looking to set a second administrative date in the coming months.
“It was a difficult season at times, but given all the experience we have gained over the past 12 months, I think there is a clear understanding of what we need for our strait as one team and a club,” Jenkins said.
“We will look forward to bringing the correct director or the main coach to build on those twelve months so that we can start the season strongly; pushed the club forward and challenge the upper part of the second league.”
