Mets hit a triple play on Friday night – even if the referees seemed to have failed the call.
Jesse Winker pulled the ball to the first side in the top of the fourth half, and instead of the first fashion, Nathaniel Louis, at first glance, had made hunting before throwing the ball to the second rule to reach second place and return to first to complete the triple play.
There was a big problem with the call: the ball was hit.
Replay showed that Lowe did not hunt the ball before the ball reached the ground, and it should have been called Out Out by the first rule UMP Alfonso Marquez.
The play was not reviewable, so Mets could not challenge the call, but the captain of the Mets Carlos Mendoza team came out to argue with the referee.
Winker, frozen in disbelief in the first rule, was arrested by the cameras, saying: “He wore.”
The triple play ended the top of the fourth place with Mets late 2-0 for citizens.
Amazin's Luck's luck did not improve from there: The three -time Bloop Triple Bloop Triple was unable to stand from Ryne Stanek, who was closing instead of Edwin Diaz, giving up a pair of running at the bottom of the ninth to achieve the winning series in the seventh.
