The former BBC news anchor Haw Edwards was urged to return hundreds of thousands of pounds he received at a salary while she was arrested to create inappropriate images for children.
Edwards, who was previously, was condemned the BBC, who directed the events including the funeral of the Queen in 2022, in July 2024. He was suspended from BBC in July 2023 pending the investigation and arrested him after four months. He did not resign from the company until April 2024, and in the following July acknowledged that he was guilty of charges.
During his time while he is still an official but not working, Edwards got 200,000 pounds ($ 266,000) with a salary, and this is the money that the BBC now wants.
On Saturday, the BBC Chairman, Samir Shah, made Edwards to give money. He told the Times:
“If HUW is listening to this: I go back to HUW, just go back to him. Really, I just go back to him. You know that you should do this.
“We have asked him, ask him and ask him … We get legal advice on it.”
The BBC – who faced widespread criticism of dealing with the Edwards disaster – has long been explained that her hands were linked. Edwards was still an employee when he was registered from working with mental health issues, and the BBC protocols that his salary was protected during that period.
The broadcaster also faced the challenges of Edward's editing from popular programs such as doctorAnd many of the live events broadcast by the British Broadcasting Corporation over the past twenty years.
