WhatsApp confirmed that he will not support some old models. Here's what the devices lose access to this famous chat application.
If you own an old iPhone and have not promoted for a while, you may want to think about turning into something new. WhatsApp just confirmed that it ends all support for devices that work on the oldest Apple operating systems, which is bad news for three famous devices.
Currently, WhatsApp will be fully loaded on any iPhone with iOS 12 or later. However, from May 5, this will change with the description -owned chat service, saying that the application will only work on call makers with iOS 15.1 versions and install newer.
“Currently, we offer support and recommendation using the following devices: iPhone Running iOS 12 and GEWER,” explained WhatsApp.
“Starting May 5, 2025, iOS versions will be supported only 15.1 and latest.”

So, what are the devices that will already affect them?
Fortunately, this change only targets those who have very old iPhone devices in their pockets. Devices that cannot be upgraded to iOS 15.1 iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
As long as you own the iPhone 6s or later, you should be fine to continue using WhatsApp – just make sure to update the operating system completely.
Why WhatsApp makes a change?
Over time, old devices may be struggled to keep up with new features and updates. Instead of allowing the application bad performance and not getting upgrades, WhatsApp prefers to stop using it.
WhatsApp added: “devices and programs often change, so we regularly review the operating systems that we support and we make updates,” Whatsapp added.
“Every year, we look at devices and programs are the oldest and have fewer users. These devices may also not contain the latest security updates, or you may lack the jobs required to operate WhatsApp.”
