Ducati:
So far in the MotoGP world championship, there is only one rider who has signed a contract with the Ducati team for 2025. Nicolò Bulega signed a two-year deal when he joined last season, so he is set to stay for next season.
Álvaro Bautista has yet to sign a deal to stay with the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team. There have been rumours that the Spaniard could retire at the end of the 2024 season.
Andrea Iannone, Danilo Petrucci and Sam Laws have yet to sign contracts to stay with their Ducati teams, and it also looks like Michael Rubin Rinaldi could leave Ducati at the end of the year.
Jack Miller was expected to move from MotoGP to join Ducati in WorldSBK if Bautista retired, but there has been no further news about the Australian moving to Superbike.
Rumours also suggest that Jari Montella will join Petrucci at Barney Spark Racing, if the team can get two Superbikes.
Yamaha:
Pata Prometeon Yamaha riders Jonathan Rea and Andrea Locatelli have secured deals to remain with the team for the 2025 season.
When it comes to the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK team, though, none of their riders have signed for 2025 yet. Remy Gardner has been racing in MotoGP recently, and looks set to return to GP racing with the new Pramac Yamaha team. Dominique Aegerter’s future is at this stage completely unknown.
Philippe Ottl is reportedly set to replace him at GMT94 Yamaha, while Bradley Ray’s plans for 2025 are also unknown as of now.
Augusto Fernandez could be looking to join Yamaha in the MotoGP World Championship after being dropped by KTM in MotoGP. The Spaniard has been linked with a test rider role for Yamaha in MotoGP, but he told Motorsport.com: “The idea is to continue with a big bike. If I don’t get anything in MotoGP™ I will move to World Superbike™, I won’t move to Moto2™, that’s for sure.”
Another rider who could make the MotoGP World Championship is Stefano Manzi. The Italian has raced for the Ten Kit Yamaha team for two seasons now and is currently third in the MotoGP World Championship.
Kawasaki:
Kawasaki Racing will become the Bimota-based Kawasaki Racing Team for the 2025 season. The team may change its name and machinery but the rider line-up will remain the same. Alex Luz and Axel Bassani have both committed their futures to the team.
Ahead of the MotoGP World Championship round in Portugal, Garrett Gerloff and Kawasaki Buccini Racing have announced their partnership for 2025. Buccini will ride the current KRT Ninja ZX-10RR machines next year.
Rinaldi also confirmed that his manager has been talking to Manuel Puccetti about a ride in 2025. The Italian could join the American at Kawasaki Puccetti Racing next year.
BMW:
Toprak Razgatlioglu and Michael van der Mark will remain with the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team for the 2025 season.
However, there is currently no BMW team for the 2025 season. This is because the Bonovo Action BMW team has announced its departure from WorldSBK at the end of the 2024 season. This departure now leaves Scott Redding without a driver for the 2025 season.
Honda:
Spaniards Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vergès have been contracted to remain with the HRC team for the 2025 WorldSBK season.
The Petronas MIE Racing Honda team has yet to announce its 2025 lineup. Tarran Mackenzie has done well in his first season in WorldSBK and deserves to stay. However, there have been rumours that his teammate Adam Norrodin will be replaced next season.
