Has Tyson Fury retired from boxing?
On January 13, 2025, Fury released a video on social media revealing his official retirement from boxing.
He said: “Hello everyone, I will keep it short and sweet. I would like to announce my retirement from boxing.
“It was a blast and I loved every minute of it.
“I'll end with this – Dirk Turpin wore a mask.
“God bless everyone and see you on the other side.”
Fury has been touted for an all-British showdown with Anthony Joshua in the summer of 2025.

AJ's promoter, Eddie Hearn, even revealed he has booked Wembley Stadium for the mega bout between the two heavyweights – but it now appears the fight is up in the water.
However, this is not the first time Fury has said he has hung up his gloves.
The first time came 12 years ago when he became frustrated when a fight with David Haye ended.
He announced at the time: “Hello everyone, I have officially retired from boxing. There are many desires [crooked] People in this sport. They will have to have sex with someone else. Goodbye to boxing.”
Following this announcement, he took a three-year break from the sport between 2015 and 2018, which many did not expect to see again.
Then, after a win over Dillian Whyte in 2022, Fury retired again before deciding to make a comeback against Dereck Chisora months later.
This means we can't be 100% sure that Fury won't be back in the ring, especially with a fight with Joshua in the wings.
