Two people were killed and two others were seriously injured in a horrific overnight accident on Long Island that ended with their car upside down and completely mangled.
New York State Police said the dead and injured — none of whom have been identified — were all in the same car that crashed around 11 p.m. Sunday on the Southern State Parkway near Exit 29 in north Massapequa.
Photos of the wreck show the car upside down near the wrong way sign.
The two survivors were seriously injured and are receiving treatment in an area hospital.
The eastbound lanes from Exit 29 to Exit 30 were closed after the crash and police reopened them around 5:30 a.m. Monday.
The investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
