A former Trader Joe's employee took to social media to reveal the store's secrets including how shoppers can get $500 by signing up for a website.
The TikToker said she was “spilling all the tea on Trader Joe's Secrets” after working for the retailer for five months.
She also claimed that everyone who spends more than $10 is entitled to a free mystery bag.
However, the response to her video has been quite harsh, with many participants calling it a scam.
“Oh my gosh lady… you're in the same situation!! Everyone… there's nothing free we're going to give you! TJ Gift Cards can only be loaded up to $100 each.
“Have fun getting scammed,” one commenter said.

“Do they really give away $500 GC? This sounds too good to be true,” another said.
“That's not true, I'm sorry. She's either scamming you or retaliating for getting fired for something. Our company doesn't do this. There's not a single store within the company that does that,” another TikToker replied.
Those who regularly spend with the retailer were particularly interested in the mystery bag.
“I spend about $100 a week in New York City, and I've never gotten a mystery bag,” one said.
“Mystery bag?? What is this?? I didn't receive that or even saw it in the store,” another commenter said.
“That's not a real thing,” another replied.
The video has attracted more than 2,000 comments since it was posted five days ago.
Jenny (@jennytraderjoes) posted the video and her account has 1,810 followers, although she has only posted one video – the same video – twice.
Social event
Trader Joe's was the subject of another social media video this week.
Instagrammer Natasha Fischer (@traderjoeslist) posted a video about the retailer's new Chicken Mall frozen meal.
How to reduce the cost of your grocery store
Here are some tips on how to reduce the amount you spend on groceries.
- Write yourself a list – Buy only the items you need. If it's not on your list, don't put it in the cart
- Create a budget – Prepare a weekly budget to buy your food
- Never shop hungry -You're more likely to buy more food if your stomach is growling
- Do not buy pre-cut vegetables or fruits -The extra amount they will charge for shredding may be surprising
- Use social media – Follow your favorite retailers for the latest offers
- Be unfaithful -You may want to go to different stores to find the best deals
- Check the small print – It's always worth checking the price per kg/lb/L when comparing offers, so making a similar decision because a larger box doesn't necessarily mean you're getting more
- Use your loyalty cards – Don't be afraid to subscribe to all of them. They all work a little differently – find out which reward works best for you and remember to redeem your points for additional rewards
She declared the dish, which costs $6.99, “exceptional” and said she was “blown away.”
Recommending the product to followers, Natasha said: “The depth of flavor is incredible, and it's easy to prepare.
“I enjoyed it as is, but it would also be great in tacos, enchiladas, or over rice with guacamole.”
Meanwhile, shoppers are upset that the grocery chain has discontinued production of its popular cheese pastry rolls.
One person said: “It's infuriating, but more products are becoming seasonal, and it kills the idea that we're missing out.”
Another commented: “I really hate it when traders stop working and delicious products. Feels like a stab in the back (yes, being dramatic).”
The company also recently discontinued a core frozen vegetable product.
