A woman has reflected on the moment she knew her marriage was doomed after her husband muttered two words to her moments after she said “I do.”

The bride, @noiwontthanks, took to TikTok to talk about the heartbreaking moment, saying the incident had “haunted” her for 11 years.

“My husband ruined our wedding day,” she wrote in the video, which went viral before being deleted.

She admitted that she had not planned to share the story, but was recently forced to do so after witnessing countless other women who “realized the day they got married that they had made a mistake.”

More than a decade ago, a woman and her boyfriend, who had only been together for four months, decided to go to a judge to get married.

She preferred to avoid the attention that comes with a big wedding.

Once they were married at the local court, everything seemed “good” and the bride was “very happy.”

However, soon after, the groom said two words that she will remember forever.

The couple had only been married for 60 seconds when the judge, who enjoyed officiating weddings, mentioned that he would like to hear from them in 10 years for an update on their relationship.

The bride agreed and said she would love to do it, joking: “I hope I wear the same dress.”

“My husband didn't miss a beat for about 60 seconds and said 'or younger,'” she explained, adding that this later led to a fight.

She said she looked at her husband's face for contextual clues, but he was not laughing.

“I died inside and froze like a statue. I felt like I couldn’t even breathe,” she continued.

It seemed like the beginning of the end of their relationship – and it was.

“It just broke my heart. I looked at the judge and he was on the floor. He said, 'Son, I just got married' and that's when I said, 'Oh, I'm not crazy. My gut is right. I'm not crazy. This is bad.'”

Despite the difficult start, the woman stayed with her husband for ten years before they eventually separated.

She claimed she suffered years of “psychological abuse”, “gaslighting” and “love bombing”, and still believes the comment on the wedding day was a red flag for what was to come.

“He would convince me that I was crazy or dramatic. But I wasn't really one of those things.

“He hated my guts from the beginning. I hope this helps.” [other people]”.
