A Reddit thread asked former jobbers to reveal secrets from their former workplaces.
The post, which has now been archived, received more than 250 responses from former retail workers, restaurant employees, and more, with tales from some of the most well-known names in the US.
@LeftHandItches originally posted in the r/AskReddit forum, which has now been archived, and asked the group.
“What secret from your previous job can you reveal now that you no longer work there?”
The truth about fast food
The post quickly attracted attention, receiving 106 upvotes and many comments from people who previously worked in a variety of industries.
Fans of Mexican chain Chipotle have voted on a response that lets you get your money's worth with every order.
“I used to work at Chipotle.”
“When they give you a scoop of meat, you can ask them to measure it before they give it to you.”
The former restaurant worker then continued, “Trust me, it's not 4 ounces like they say.”
This has likely helped fans of the food chain, who have complained about the ever-rising prices, with not enough filling to justify the price increase.
Workers unite
It wasn't just this link that delighted Reddit users, as there were hundreds of responses.
From retail stores to finance and grocery stores, there were plenty of people who were quick to share disgusting stories and anecdotes.
One person wrote: “You can bring your own sweets and drinks to the cinema. Just don't bring hot food or bottles with you.”
“Former frozen section manager from Kroger,” another Reddit user shared.
“We had our back freezer break down several times and food would stay stagnant at 50 degrees and get mushy.
“The loss could have been tens of thousands of dollars. They let it freeze again and sold it as if nothing had happened.”
Another shocking post said: “We had a 'ghost kitchen' on Friday, consisting of sushi. It says on the menu that everything is 'fresh.'
“You're literally paying like $10 for two small pieces of bagged fish, not even close to fresh, whatever kind of raw 'fish' you order.
“Also, like most, but not all, restaurant chains, everything except the salads is frozen.”
This comes after wholesaler Costco came under fire in another Reddit thread.
Reddit members shared why they haven't touched Costco samples in 20 years.
