Customers are furious after Netflix confirmed another price increase on Tuesday.
The live streaming company said the cost rise comes as the platform grows and offers more perks.
“As we continue to invest in programming and deliver more value to our members, we will occasionally ask our members to pay a little more so we can reinvest to further improve Netflix,” the earnings report noted.
Netflix's least expensive ad-supported tier will increase by $1 from $6.99 to $7.99, according to Bloomberg.
For the ad-free tier, the increase is larger at $17.99 – compared to $15.49.
Those customers with the ad-free premium tier will also go from paying $22.99 to $24.99.
The last price increase Netflix customers saw was fairly recent in October 2023.
It is also the first time that the company has increased the ad-supported plan, which was launched the previous year.
