Another day, another goal for Mohamed Salah and another win for Liverpool.
The Egyptian striker has now scored three goals in the Champions League this season and 22 in 31 matches in all competitions.
He has also set up a further 17 goals for his teammates, and his total of 39 goal contributions is the highest of any player in Europe's top five leagues.
His latest goal set Liverpool on course to beat Lille and secure their place in the Champions League Round of 16.
It was an indifferent finish as he latched on to a brilliant through ball from Curtis Jones and lifted it over the advancing Lucas Chevalier.
It was his 50th goal in Europe for Liverpool – including 44 in the Champions League, five in the Europa League last season and one in the Champions League qualifiers.
His latest goal extends his record as the club's top European goalscorer, and he has now scored 20 Champions League goals at Anfield.
Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero (23 at the Etihad Stadium) and former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy (23 at Old Trafford) are the only players to have scored more goals in the competition at a specific venue for an English club.
“There was always a smile on Salah's face, but just believing in himself that he would score,” former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“That's what makes him so dangerous. That's the elite mentality of a player of his caliber.”
He has also been directly involved in 18 goals in 15 games at Anfield this season (scoring 10 goals and eight assists in all competitions).
“He's a real talisman for Liverpool,” former Reds striker Robbie Fowler said on Amazon Prime.
“He's a match-winner. He's very comfortable in front of goal.
“He's one of those players that if he misses a chance, he doesn't get upset because he'll score next time.
“We sing about Mohamed Salah and we know what he is capable of.”
