Belinda Pinanda from Switzerland celebrated with her daughter Bella in her arms after she beat America Ashine Kruger in the Abu Dhabi final to demand the ninth and first respected tennis title since she became a mother.

The former Olympic champion, 27, of a group of 20-year-old Krogger 4-6 6-1 6-1.

Bencic's victory came just 10 months after her first child arrived and less than four months since her return from more than a year on maternity leave.

“Some time has passed,” she said, saluting a crowd at the Zayed City International Tennis International Center.

The title of World Number Four came in the former WTA championship in the Abu Dhabi Open in February 2023.

“I am very happy to return here in Abu Dhabi. I didn't imagine this. I also feel a little emotion.”

“I was working hard to play, and I go back. So to win a title in front of my family, it's really special.

“For my husband and daughter Bella, I love you so much. It was a big dream for me to go back and play in front of her and win heroism.”

When Bencic returned to this sport in October, its global ranking decreased to 1213, but it reached the fourth round of the Australian Open in its return in the Grand Slam championship and ran it in the Abu Dhabi Championship, helped her return to the top 100.

Victory means that it will now move to 65 when the next classification is updated.
