The North Korean soldiers returned to the battlefield in Russia after they were temporarily withdrawn from the front lines, according to Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelinsky.
About 11,000 soldiers were sent to the Corsak region by Pyongyang last fall after the seizure of Ukraine to the West Russian province. After the destroyed battlefield losses – 1,000 soldiers from the hermit and 3,000 others were killed or captured – they were withdrawn from the fighting, according to reports.
Ukraine forces have reported the soldiers for three weeks, Kyiv Independent said.
But during his speech on Friday evening, Zelensky announced that the forces were “brought again” and “attacks” were conducted alongside the Russian forces in Corsak, where Ukraine continued a new attack in the region.
Zelinski said that “a large number” of them were killed. “We are talking about hundreds of Russian and North Korean soldiers,” he said.
They were just the latest loss of the Russians. On Saturday, the General Staff of the Armed Forces in Ukraine said that Russia has lost 847,860 soldiers since the beginning of its invasion in February 2022.
The army said on Facebook that the number includes 1210 victims on the last day.
Zelinski said in an interview with British journalist Pears Morgan last week that about 45,000 Ukrainian soldiers have died in a fight since the invasion of Russia.
However, Kiev has a shortage of workforce in the foreground. It launches new employment efforts next week, with profitable contracts aimed at tempting men between the ages of 18 and 24, less than the country's age, to recruit.
Meanwhile, the defensive communication group in Ukraine, which was created to coordinate weapons support for the country, will meet this week in Brussels with foreign supporters.
The Ministry of Defense said in a statement that the US Defense Secretary, Beit Higseth, will attend the meeting and repeat “President Trump's commitment to the existence of a diplomatic end of the war in Ukraine as soon as possible.”
“It will also highlight the need to increase the European leadership over Ukraine's security assistance,” she said.
The meeting comes before the annual Munich Security Conference, where leaders of a group of allies will meet, including Vice President JD Vance; Keith Keel, Trump's special envoy to Russia, Ukraine, and Zeilinsky.
President Trump told the reporters on Friday that he could meet personally with Zelinski this week, as well, Zelinski was face to face any US meetings in Russia.
He said in an interview with Reuters this week that Zelinski is eager to mediate in a deal to provide the United States with rare ground minerals for financial support in the war.
Ukraine is widespread with rich deposits that can be used to manufacture high -performance magnets, electric motors and electronics.
