On Wednesday night, US President Donald Trump announced immediate negotiations to end the war in Ukraine after talking to the Russian tyrant over the phone for 90 minutes.
However, the defense minister warned that there is no possibility of Ukraine's return to the return of the lands that Russia has stolen and the country is unlikely to join NATO.
Mr. Trump later contacted Mr. Zellinski “to inform him of the conversation” he conducted with Putin.
The Ukrainian President claimed yesterday that Mr. Trump told him that his original plan was speaking to both himself and Putin at the same time.
“It is very important for us to maintain the support of the United States,” said Mr. Zelinski.
“But it is not very enjoyable.. Knowing how Ukrainian and Europeans interact – nothing should be determined about Ukraine without Ukraine.”
He said that his priority is now a face -to -face meeting with Mr. Trump and added: “After a plan to stop Putin, I think it is fair to speak to the Russians.”
On his online social letters, Mr. Trump announced: “Wonderful talks with Russia and Ukraine yesterday. A good possibility to end that terrible and very bloody war !!!”
He also said he hoped to meet Putin face to face in Saudi Arabia.

No “background deal”
Before a meeting at the Munich Security Conference between US Vice President JD Vance and Mr. Zellinski, Sir Kerr said: “No one wants the conflict and the Ukrainians to continue – more than anyone – who wants to struggle to end. But we must make sure that Ukraine is at the heart of this.
“There can be no negotiations on Ukraine without Ukraine being in its heart. It is really important for Ukraine to be in the strongest possible situation, whether in discussions, or whether the fighting continues.”
UK defense minister John Healy reiterated, “There can be no negotiations on Ukraine without Ukraine.” His American counterpart, Beit Higseth, was forced yesterday to deny that Mr. Trump made a rear deal with Putin.
But he insisted that any peace agreement will not include NATO membership in Ukraine or the return of Crimea and parts of the Donbas region, which was included in Russia in 2014.

He said: “We are counting on the UK government to show leadership in this.
“If we do not support Ukraine, Russia will be encouraged.”
The European allies surprised Mr. Trump's attempts to conclude a deal.
The senior European Union diplomat, Kaja Class, insisted that no deal “behind our backs” can succeed, as Washington accused the capital of restoring Russia.
She said, “Any quick solution is a dirty deal. It will not work simply.”
German Chancellor Olaf Schools, “Salam Tamli” and the defense minister, regretted that the Trump administration had already made concessions to the Kremlin.
