England v Scotland Six Nations 2025: Ted Hill replaces injures George Martin on bench for Calcutta Cup

Lock George Martin was excluded from the match of the six countries in England against Scotland on Saturday, with Bath Ted Hill's wing on the bench.

Martin, 23, began England's victory over France in the second round, but was called as a substitute against Gregor Townsand – initially the only change made by coach Steve Portoyk with Wali Chesum in the second row.

Although he was named in the Matching Squad team on Tuesday, England confirmed that Martin in Leesester Tigers had failed to overcome a reported knee case against Les Blues.

Pathner Hill, 25, appeared in their appearance in England, and the last time was directed by former coach Edi Jones in 2021 against the United States.

Looking at Hill's plays in the back row, Martin's loss puts pressure on Chesum, which makes his first England begin for nearly a year, as England does not have a specialized lock on the bench – although Hill has played on the occasion per second row.

England has lost its past four matches against Scotland and is looking forward to maintaining its hopes in the title, as the Townsund team also needs to win after a disappointing defeat by Ireland in the second round.
