The Vatican presented the latest update to the health of Pope Francis, as the 88 -year -old remains in critical condition.

Francis was accepted at the Gemili Hospital in Rome on February 14 after he had breathing difficulties, and his later was diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs.

The Vatican described his condition as critical for the first time on Saturday, and he told that he needed additional oxygen and blood transfusion that day.

The Vatican said in his last update on Sunday morning: “Tonight was quiet, and the Pope settled.”

Double pneumonia is a serious infection that can add the lungs, making it difficult to breathe.

The Vatican described the Pope's infection as “complicated”, saying that it was caused by two or more microorganisms.

Francis, who has been the Pope since 2013, has suffered from episodes of health aids in the past two years.

It is especially vulnerable to lung infections because it developed the general as an adult young woman, and part of the same lung was removed.
