The Irish Football Association will reveal later this week that their new National Training Center will be next to the Galgorm Resort, outside Ballymena.
The site is expected to consist of stadiums and elite facilities for men and women teams for men and women, with some financial assistance to the project provided by the government.
VIPs will inform the members of IFA this week of the decision to move forward in the development plans in the Antim County Resort, with the planning request.
This announcement will lead to a long period of speculation about the possible places of the project.
IFA looked at the center's position in the center in Interim, but said that “no official arrangements have been agreed” to develop a 60 acre location in the Birch Hill area.
Last month, an IFA spokesman told BBC News Ni: “The council was clear at all times that Birch Hill Road was in mind as well as many other sites, and that exploratory discussions about the site were in the initial stages.
“No official arrangements have been agreed upon and we maintain an excellent relationship with the Antrim & Newtownbey Borough Council.”
A statement issued by the Football Administration in Northern Ireland in September 2023 outlined their aspirations that the National Training Center “will create a second football house in Northern Ireland to complete the place of the excellent match at the National Stadium in Windsor Park.”
“The intention is to create a specially high quality facility with the designated” Northern ID ID “. The Irish Union will make a great investment in the facility and expects capital financing from external sources, especially those designed to support national societies in these types of strategic infrastructure projects .
