The coach of the Irish Football Association, Aaron Hughes The newly announced National Training Center It can make a “huge” difference in developing the next generation in the country.
On Wednesday, IFA has confirmed plans to build a new facility on a 50 -acre location in Galimmram, near Palmine.
After finding a facility site, Hughes says it represents the “first step” on a new North Irish football trip.
“As a young player coming, if you have something like that, you want to come and train on it, you want to be part of it,” Hughes said.
“You will feel you will be able to follow the footsteps of the next players. I think last year, when we had less than 17 years in St. George in the elite tours, the great England team was to stay there at the same time.”
“For young players to be training and performance alongside senior players and may have created such opportunities, this is what we lost for this,” added former Northern Ireland Hughes, who was appointed as IFA technical director in late 2022.
