The Aires family revealed that he died in New York on March 4, according to a joint statement on his Facebook page.
They said that the composer and the producer “will be lost.”
His family said that he lived “84 years old” and announced that the celebration of his life would happen.
Airez, from Los Angeles, was known as the godfather of the new soul.
Vibraphone learned after receiving the instrument as a gift when he was 17 years old.
However, he was an inspiration after watching Lionel Hampton as he was performing when he was only five years old.
“At that time, my mother and my father told me that he put spiritual feelings on me,” Los Angeles Times told the Los Angeles Times in 2011.
Airez released his first West Coast studio album after signing with the United Artists brand.
He was known for the path that everyone loves the Sunshine, which appeared as part of his 1976 album of the same name.
The path was one of the 200 best songs in the 1970s, according to Pitchfork.
The song ended in 72nd, and commentator Matthew Chenber described the path as “beautiful, but not prolific.”
Since then the song has been covered by stars including D'Agelo.
It has been heard more than 130 million times on Spotify.
Airez is a pioneer, and Farrell Williams revealed that he was one of the most influential artists, as Billboard stated.
The stars like Snopp Dogg took samples of his music – which Aists admitted not expecting him.
“I am happy to say that I had never had to go to anyone to ask them to taste me,” he said.
“They just started doing it. It was great to hear people put their rotation on my voices.”
The fans praised the late music star on social media.
One of the umbrellas described it as “unparalleled.”
Another described it as a “real innovator” and said that Airez was a person “reactivated” the scene of music.
“His back voice has become every era he had, with everyone loves the sun's rays that work as a tribute to many of us,” they posted on X.
Aires survived by his wife and two children.
