The film, directed by John M. Zhou, known as songs like Crazy Rich Asians and WICDED, brought her life story to the big screen with Spears sharing deeply in her creation.
In 2025 Golden Globe, Zhou revealed that although the project is in its early stages, Britney will play an important role in shaping how her story developed. He stated,
