Over the weekend, Davide Tardozzi announced VR46’s plans to field Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli in MotoGP next season. However, Pablo Nieto insisted that no agreement has been reached yet.
Despite David Tardozzi’s comments over the weekend at Silverstone, the VR46 team’s driver line-up for next season has yet to be confirmed. VR46 team principal Pablo Nieto insists they have not yet signed any drivers for next season.
“We are working on it. We are close to closing everything as soon as possible and we will announce the situation with the riders. We are very interested in our riders, very interested in the riders who join the team,” Pablo Nieto told the media.
The VR46 team has been officially announced as receiving factory support from Ducati for next season. The team will be running the Ducati GP25 next year and the GP24, with the VR46 team receiving factory support from Pramac Racing.
“Being a factory support team for Ducati will be very special for us,” added Neto. “We know we have to work a lot but it is very important to work with Ducati so this is the most important thing. It will be a big step for us, the riders, the manufacturer, the team, all the staff so we are very happy.”
“Having a factory bike is important for the team, for the riders and for everything. I hope we can give our support to Ducati to help them grow, that’s very important. I know they will help us grow as a team and having the best bike in MotoGP is really important for us.”
