Billy Joel announced that he was postponing his upcoming concerts because of an unannounced “medical condition” after falling on the stage in a recent show.
Crooner “Uptown Girl” moved to Instagram on Tuesday to announce that he paid the dates of the concert from March to July to allow him to “recover from modern surgery” and “undergo physiotherapy under the supervision of his doctors.”
“As I regret postponing any offers, my health must come first,” he wrote. “I look forward to returning to the stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding.”
Joel, 75, “is expected to recover completely,” according to the statement.
Piano Man in the Rogers Center in Toronto, Ontario, was scheduled to present on March 15, but he will not return to the theater until July 5.
