Coventry had approximately 60 % of the ball at night as on the side of Lampard 20 rounds for Sandarland 16.
Le Bris, who now led Sunderland to the final match against Sheffield United in its first season in the club, admitted that visitors were the best team in the normal time.
“It is really great because this scenario was absolutely amazing,” Le Press told Sky Sports.
“Maybe we were very tense for the first part of the game.
“During the extra time, we were good. We played our football and enjoyed it now.”
For Coventry, it is a painful end for a season that has been on an upward path since Lampard Mark Robins was replaced in November.
Lampard, former Chelsea and Everton president, took the club's 17th competition in the tournament and led them to fifth, and 16 of 29 league matches won.
“If anyone watched the two games, we took control of the house, we have made a mistake and recorded,” Lampard told Sky Sports. “I think we have controlled huge periods of this game [too]. We played, controlled, and in the second half it was a wave after the wave.
“The players gave everything from the place we came from – 17 in the league in December, and the players were great in the second half of the season.
“We are not bitter, and we are demonstrating on Sunderland, but we were the best teams in the football matches and for this reason they will be very happy to go to Wembley.”
