Riyadh, Saudi Arabia-President Trump urged Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharra to sign Ibrahim's agreements in an unplanned meeting on Wednesday-one day after lifting all sanctions on the country of the Middle East.

The two leaders met on the sidelines of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Riyadh, where Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was in the conversation.

Syria is not currently recognized by the State of Israel, and Ibrahim's agreements were one of Trump asking Syria in an attempt to normalize relations.

Trump also told the Syrian leader to make all foreign terrorists leave Syria, deport Palestinian terrorists, and help the United States prevent ISIS and be responsible for the ISIS detention centers in northeastern Syria, in the White House.

Trump's decision to lift sanctions on Syria has led to applause from Saudi business leaders at the Investment Forum on Tuesday.

“I felt strongly that this would give them a chance,” Trump said in the Gulf Cooperation Council to his decision on Wednesday. “It gives them a good and strong chance … I had an honor to do so.

“We are currently exploring normalization with the new Syrian government,” he said.
