The departure of the former 38 -year -old Scotland comes at a time when the Hollywood team is preparing for life in the championship after successive promotions.
Fletcher, who scored nine goals as Wrexham won the upgrade from the first league, was hoping to get a new deal at North Wales.
Fletcher posted on social media: “Unfortunately, I must announce to me what I can only describe that the most magical club that I played at all!
“Within 22 years of entering the field, I have not tested anything like this club.”
