New York University blocks a diploma from a principle speaker for students who called the conflict in Gaza “genocide”, in statements, a democratic lawmaker was bombed as “stupid and selfish” – even if he was telling him, “Good luck in obtaining a job.”
The university said in a statement that the students of the New Galatin University School, Logan Rosous, used the emotional platform of the railway against Israel's constant conflict in a violation of prior guidelines.
“The only thing is the right thing to say at this time, and a group of this big, is a recognition of the atrocities that are currently taking place in Palestine,” Rosous said to a crowd of people at the Beacon Theater, as the joint video showed online.
“I would like to say that the genocide that is currently taking place politically and military by the United States is paid by our tax dollars,” he continued with students continuing to applause.
“I just want to say that I condemn this genocide and collusion in this genocide,” Rosous announced that the graduation cover has fallen from his head.
New York University officials quickly condemned the speech in a statement calling for Rosous to use the platform to exchange “personal and single political views” and lying to the university.
“New York University strongly condemns the option of a student in the graduation of the Galatin School today in the graduation of the Galatin School today”, “John Beckman, the first vice president for public affairs and strategic communications.
“He lied about the speech that he would have delivered and violates the commitment that it is subjected to compliance with our rules. The university blocks its diploma during the follow -up of disciplinary procedures.”
Representative Jared Moskovic (D.-Fla) took Rosous for the mission of lying and said that New York University has all the right to block the diploma from Galatin, a liberal art school.
“He lied to the university. Second, he lied to every person listening. There is no genocide in Israel.
“But at the end of the day, it is up to the university, whether they gave him a diploma or not,” he added.
“You know, in fact, they can give him a diploma, it will not be important. Good luck in getting a job. This was a stupid and selfish thing – the ceremony was destroyed for many families,” he accused Moskovitz.
Whether Rosous will receive his diploma still in the air – but the university indicated that more penalties can be imposed against the former student.
“New York University is very sorry because the public was subjected to these notes and that this moment was stolen by a person who offended a treatment that was granted to him,” Beckman said.
New York University did not respond to the publication of the post to comment on Friday.
