Chloe Kelly said that she had thought about taking a football break before Tersel “restored a smile on my face” and turned her difficult season “from a real decrease to a real highest.”
Kelly began the Champions League final on Saturday, as Gunners stunned Barcelona holders to win the first European title in 18 years.
England International came through the Gunners Youth ranks between 2010 and 2015 and was returned to the club after it was struggling for the time of the match with Manchester City, which made only one start in WSL before the transfer of the end date loan to northern London.
She said that she “wanted to be happy again” in a social media post, and Gareth Taylor, the then president of the city, said it was “really disappointing” how the bitter transport epic ended between Kelly and the club.
“I said that I am coming to this club to find happiness with football and I have a medal around my neck,” Kelly emotional told BBC Sport's Jo Currie. “Every day I came to the club where I smile.
“I took a step to try to make things better for myself and I am grateful to the people around me who supported me to take this step. This is the step that helped me do so.”
Kelly has played 13 games in all competitions since re -joining Arsenal, and scored twice.
Gunners has helped secure WSL from being second and now has a victory on Saturday in Lisbon to celebrate.
“Certainly there,” added Kelly, who scored the goal of England, the winner of the EURO 2022 final, about the place where victory is occupied. “The journey it took to get here, it was definitely a battle.
“Now to celebrate this moment with girls, with Arsenal Football Club, as well as my family who was there during the dark days so far, I'm really grateful.”
If a soccer break was a real option before moving in January, Kelly said: “It was definitely. I don't think people sometimes understand feelings that sometimes go through people's minds.
“It is difficult to make it clear but we are here now while we are on the other side of it. It is a football, and sometimes there is a high percentage, there is the lowest levels and there are parts between them. From the lowest real level to the highest real level, I am very grateful to Riny Siliger.
“The first thing I told me when we beat Lyon in the semi -finals was” Thank you for this opportunity. “
Kelly's contract at City expires in June, and its loan was only moving until the end of the season.
About if the fans could expect to see them in the Arsenal shirt again next season, she added: “Who knows. I know that I have given everything to the club and gave the club everything to me, so I am always grateful.”
