Nicole Sherzinger is the greatest star ever.
The former Pussycat Dolls singer won the Best Performance Award by actress in a pioneering role in a music movie at the Tony 2025 Awards on Sunday, June 8, defeating the winner of record numbers six times Odera McDonald.
Sherzinger, 46, plays the silent star Norma Desmond in the revival of “Sunseet Boulevard”.
“I always felt that I did not belong,” she said. “But you all made me feel that I belonged to the house finally.”
Sherzinger has previously won the 2024 Lawrence Olivier Award for Best Music Actress for her role in music.
In May, shortly after the nomination of the “convincing singer” judge for the Tony First Prize, Sherzinger discussed her career in Broadway.
Today, she said at the time: “I feel overwhelmingly grateful. “Never give up, because you never know when your time will come. I am very grateful now.”
“One of my best high school friends was the first person to call me,” Sherzinger added. I can't believe it. This is what we dreamed of. “” I can't wait to talk to my mother. “
Although the award -winning singer became a star as a member of Pussycat dolls from 2003 to 2010, she always dreamed of the Broadway Championship.
In December, just months before winning the first Tony Award ever, Sherzinger shared a video of Instagram itself standing in the theater area in New York in 2008.
“I grew up, I thought I would do it. I will be on this side of the street, not this side of the street.” “But one day I will go home.”
After its nomination, Sherzinger was reflected in the moment of the full circle – and how it parallels with the dreams of “Sunseet Boulevard” in returning to the theater.
Sherzinger said: “As Norma Desmond says, I will return to where I was born to be. With one look, I will be me.” As she says, “I will finally return home.”
She added: “I think many people did not know this aspect of me because they are used to seeing the side of the pop star from me or in the pussycat dolls.” “But this is the home for me. I couldn't ask for a better dream.”
Elsewhere in the interview, she thanked Scharziner “Sunseet Boulevard” and her role in Norma to allow her “to share her heart with the world.”
“It is interesting because Norma Desmond's play is like, where does Nurma Desmond and Nicole start? And vice versa?” “Do not blow your breath,” said a singer.
She added, “I always dreamed of the desire to share all my gifts, all my talents and my whole heart with the world.” “Now I have reached this because of this.”
Sherzinger concluded, “I am very proud of everyone in this production. Because we are all together.”
“Sunset Boulevard”, who got a total of seven nominations, led the candidates Tony between the music revival this year.
The theatrical critic in the Post, Johnny Olexki, celebrated the performance of Sherzinger in his four -star production review when it was first opened in October.
“But the show belongs to Titanic Scherziner, which makes Norma, especially brutally proud,” wrote Oliksky. “Her confidence and her desire to succeed makes her a much larger fall than those in the cloudy hermit.”
She included the best performance of the actress in a leadership role in one of the music candidates McDonald (“Gargasi”), Jennifer Simard (“Death to her”), and Meghan Hiltti (“Death Luha”), and Jasmine Amy Rogers (“Bopop! Betty Bopop Music”).
