Cristiano Ronaldo played through the pain barrier to lead Portugal to win the final of the Nations League against his bitter rivals, with the collapse of the captain of crying after the match
Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed that he was warm up before the Nations League semi -finals on Sunday. The 40 -year -old managed to start the clash against Spain, where he scored his second goal against La Roja.
The final, which was held in Munich at Allianz Arena 2-2 after 90 minutes, ended with Portugal beat their bitter competitors 5-3 in a penalty kick. It is the first competitive victory in Portugal over their neighbors since Euro 2004.
This means that they won the Nations League for the second time, after they raised the cup in 2019. Ronaldo was not on the field for fire, after he was replaced by Goncalo Ramos with two minutes survival.
He collapsed in crying after the match, raising the cup with his teammates. The star confirmed that he fought through the pain barrier to help his team, because he alluded to potential retirement.
Ronaldo made an effort to describe the victory as “a duty to be fulfilled” and insisted that it was a “summit” of this group of Portugal players, a year of the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Ronaldo also kept the praise of its president, Roberto Martinez. The Spaniards were shot after Euro 2024, as Portugal stumbled in the quarter -finals before France came out. But the leader insisted that he is the right man for this position.
