Noel Moni, CEO of FAW, says getting more women and girls who play football is one of the main priorities of the ruling authority.
“If we give a lot of opportunities for schools and younger age groups, I think this number will rise and up,” he said.
“We are dealing with the game of women like a startup that it has not enjoyed investment historically. Now we are invested in it so much.”
In 2021, Faw launched the first football and girls football strategy, with the aim of doubling the levels of participation to 20,000 registered girls playing football.
“I think we are one of the highest national associations for spending as a percentage of our rotation.”
“It has changed, there is a typical shift from where it was when my career started, perhaps 20 years ago.
“But what we have to do is to continue to support the popular base for growth as well.
“Therefore, it is sure that we have all the things in place to make sure that this growth that we see is not standing up.”
Wales faces the Netherlands in her first team match in Euro 2025 in Lucerne on July 5 before France and England played in Saint Galen.
