Tamra Judge’s mom is screaming, “That’s my opinion!”
After the “Real Housewives of Orange County” star went under the knife for a brow lift, CO2 laser treatment and blue chemical peel that left her looking unrecognizable, her mom, Sandy Baker, had some choice words for her daughter’s recovery.
The 57-year-old took to her Instagram Stories on Monday to share a screenshot of the note from Barker that read, “Your face literally makes me want to throw up. It looks so painful and you don’t look like yourself. One of my friends called and asked if you’d been in a motorcycle accident.”
Judge wasn’t offended by her mom’s brutal honesty, as some might say, like mother, like daughter. Instead, the reality personality responded with a video of herself with a swollen face, unfazed by the text.
“I literally can’t stop laughing about my mom’s text message to me,” Judge said. “You guys know where I get my empathy from right? I can’t, she’s too much.”
The podcast host has continued to update fans in the aftermath of her surgery, explaining that things, although painful, are going in the right direction.
“It’s day three, and it’s actually day three, so this is the thick of it right here,” Judge told followers hours earlier. “This is the worst day of it all and it happens to be on my birthday, happy birthday to me.”
“Sophia gave me this shirt for my birthday. It says homebody,” she continued. “Which sums me up.”
Although the Bravolebrity is recovering in the comfort of her home, it hasn’t been smooth sailing.
“The swelling is pretty bad. The doctor wanted to put me on a steroid pack today, and Eddie went to go pick it up, and the pharmacy’s closed today,” Judge said. “So I won’t be doing that. I’ll be doing that tomorrow.”
The “Traitors” alum may not be able to mark her birthday in typical fashion, but she is celebrating the little wins.
“I do feel a little bit better today, I took a shower, I’m able to turn the TV on now, before, noise hurt my head so bad because of the brow lift that I just wanted to stay in complete silence,” admitted Judge. “So, just wanted to get on here and give a quick update on what’s going on.”
Later in the video, Judge slowly walked around her kitchen as her 18-year-old daughter asked, ” Getting your steps in?”
“I’m trying to get my steps in so I can poop,” the Orange County resident replied. “I haven’t pooped in three to four days. I don’t even know what it is yet. They say if you keep moving, you might be able to poop. But I gotta do it when the pain pills work.”
“Oh god,” Sophia answered.
“Real Housewives of Dubai” star Caroline Stanbury, who was open about her facelift earlier this year, commented, “omg @tamrajudge this seems worse than facelift ?” while “Real Housewife” Brynn Whitfield said: “You already did look amazing so you’re gonna look even more incredible! Happy birthday!”
A day prior, Judge detailed her experience from before she had the surgery up until she was out and in recovery.
“Taking you all along on my journey!” she wrote on Instagram. “I visited Dr. Donald Mowlds in Newport Beach, who works alongside Dr. Ambe, for a brow lift, CO2 laser and a blue chemical peel.”
“Seven years ago, I had a lower facelift but skipped the upper — like painting the house but forgetting the trim,” Judge added. “Stay tuned for updates!”
Judge snapped a selfie wearing oversized sunglasses, a medical cap, and a hospital gown before flashing to herself on the other side.
“Ok guys, I made it. I am one hour in recovery,” she told the camera while in the hospital bed. “I don’t feel bad. My eyes are all blurry because there’s, like, something like Vaseline in there or something. But — let the healing begin.”
The next clip showed Judge being pushed out of the Orange County surgery center in a wheelchair. Her wrapped-up face donned a green tint from the peel.
Once back from the hospital, she expressed: “Alright, I got home from the surgery center about an hour ago, so this is probably three hours post-op. They took a little skin out of the corner of my eye. I had a little fat pocket. Not too much pain, honestly. But, of course, I’m on pain medications — talk to me at 5 in the morning.”
The morning after, Judge gave viewers one final update for the time being as she sat in bed with a plate of food on her lap.
“Day one. I’m feeling okay. Felt a little beat up. You know what happens when you take these,” she noted while showing off her prescription medications and a plastic baggie filled with prunes. “You get constipated.”
Judge then posted a close-up of her face covered in bandages, before signing off with one last note. As she put it, Judge was “in the thick of it.”
