At least 29 students were killed and 250 students were injured after an explosion that led to a stampede at a high school.
The students were in the middle of the exam on Wednesday when an electric converter exploded in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic.

The accident occurred at the Parcemi Boganda Secondary School, where more than 5,300 students were collected for the second day of the National Baccalaureate Examinations.
Most of the victims, including 16 girls, died tragicly at the scene of the accident after the explosion led to a stampede, while others were confirmed in the hospital, a ministry health He said in a statement.
The explosion occurred where the technicians were working to restore a defective electric transformer on school, according to the Ministry of Education.

President Faustin-Arada Tadira announced a period of national mourning in honor of the victims.
Investigators are currently working to determine the exact cause of the explosion and whether any safety protocols have been breached.
